A 19th century flintlock blunderbuss the 15.5 inch tapering barrel with three pairs of proof marks and stamped London the iron lockplate with indistinct makers mark 31.5ins - a.f. Estimate ?200-300 Please note this is more likely to be late 18th century rather than early 19th century. barrel generally rubbed and tarnished throughout with three pairs of proof marks to the top and clearly stamped London. Lockplates hammer and pan heavily pitted and tarnished throughout with corrosion hammer deficient snapped off at top but with some wormholes and chipping to the wood many other scratches and scuffs to the surface throughout the blunderbuss consistent with age ram rod is a replacement somewhat tired and attention needed. Walnut stock??with extra wide brass?buttplate; rear beaver tail behind tang stock is full to within 1" of muzzle. Lockplate marked REA with British proofs.? Original flintlock. Condition: Barrel is smooth and grey blending with some staining and light pitting. Lock is grey with some pitting and staining.? Brass with nice patina.? Stock with some nicks and dings and some scratches.? Overall nice example of very early Sea Service blunderbuss.

Steel folding bayonet with steel triggerguard. One of the pistols is missing the bayonet release button. Condition: All steel parts have a nice light brown patina. Brass with a nice untouched patina. Grips are excellent. Very nice pair.

L30 1/2'' Provenance: West Virginia private collection. Underside missing ornamentation near trigger; flintlock appears to have been tampered with; rod and barrel with oxidized finish; barrel with wear to gilding; stock with scratches; firing action mechanism functioning but we have not attempted to fire gun.

Marked ''Williams '' England late 18th-early 19th century. 14 1/4'' brass barrel with proof marks engraved brass trigger guard with acorn finial walnut stock and folding bayonet. Refinished stock. Slightly altered--see https://www.firearmscollector.com/cat/cat_details.asp?id=361 for another Williams blunderbuss that example with the folding bayonet on the underside and with a brass collar at the end of the stock. The present example has a scar from such a collar so it appears that the barrel has been flipped.
